The Carver Bikes Trans-Fat suspension fork is finally at Carver HQ and we couldn’t be more impressed. This is a fork that we’ve been dying to get our hands on for nearly a year now, and they’re ready for new homes! At ~90mm of travel, it’s the perfect complement to our Trans-Fat full suspension fat bike frame, or even for adding a bit more squish to the front end of your O’Beast. Of course, with a straight steerer version as well as a tapered version available, the Trans-Fat fork will work on almost any fatbike on the market. With a 10 mm travel spacer, it works great with a 29 plus (29×3.0″) wheel, like the Knard/Rabbit Hole combo.
The fork has 110mm of travel, but only about 90-100mm of it is fully usable. At the end of the spectrum, it becomes exponentially harder to achieve travel. This is intentionally done, in order to prevent the tire from bottoming out on the crown. While there has been talk (some of it coming from us!) of the travel being adjustable in this fork, in reality it should be considered a 90mm travel fork. The only recommended modification is the addition of a travel spacer to work with a 29+ front wheel.
All Carver Trans-Fat forks come with a free 32h 135mm spaced thru-axle fat bike hub and 15mm axle!
