Named after the 19th century covered wagons that hit the dusty trail across the country, the Conestoga is our purpose-built gravel frame. We have been doing our All-Road frame for many years. Riders love its versatility, in that it can be used for commuting, touring, bikepacking or just playing day riding. That said, we have had a number of riders over the past few years that asked us for a dedicated gravel bike. The Conestoga has a little more aggressive geometry and curved seat stays for comfort, as well as ample tire clearance. Based on a lot of requests from riders, we also incorporated a longer head tube for a bit more upright position. Departures from our standard fare include a T47 bottom bracket and fixed 12×142 dropouts for reliability and simplicity.
The Conestoga is our first attempt at ending the pointless practice of sizing bikes based on seat tube measurement. Though we have named the sizes according to those of traditional horizontal top tube road frames, size does not actually correspond to the length of the seat tube (which is actually lower, to allow for more standover clearance.) If you ride a 56cm road bike, you probably ride a 56cm Conestoga even though the seat tube actually measures 50cm.
Think you might be getting a little gnarlier than just gravel? Our 420 and Gnarvester frames are both suitable as drop-bar adventure and bikepacking bikes.
