With Interbike going on this week in Vegas we have decided to show you a few of the new Carver Bikes products from our little corner of the world. The latest production item to enter the market is our Carver Bikes Carbon Tubular Disc Wheels. A true cyclocross race, disc brake compatible, wheelset that is light on the scale as well as the wallet.

The C38 Disc Wheels will be available in either 24 or 28-hole configurations. The 24-hole wheels are laced to Novatec sealed bearing disc hubs with DT Competition spokes and weigh only 1340grams per set (front & rear). The reason for offering the 28-hole wheelset was a matter of personal choice. Our original prototype wheels arrived with a 28-hole configuration laced with Sapim spokes. This set weighed an impressive 1350grams and proved to be very durable. After some additional testing on other spoke patterns we decided to offer both the 24 and 28-hole versions of the Carver Bikes C38 Disc wheelsets.

The C38 Disc uses the same tubular carbon rim as our C38 rim brake wheels. For this reason you could also use this wheelset on a rim brake cross or road bike (provided you had 135mm rear spacing). Featuring a 38mm deep full carbon tubular rim with 3k carbon weave in a matte finish. Rims are 20mm wide at the rim bed and are built with external nipples allowing for easy truing of the wheel while the tire is glued on. The wheels pictured in the blog are laced with 24 DT Swiss double butted black spokes 2 cross front and rear with red anodized alloy nipples.

The wheels are built around Novatec 6-bolt disc hubs that feature an aluminum freehub body and silky smooth sealed cartridge bearings. The disc brake wheels use a 135mm rear hub width and come complete with alloy skewers.

Disc brake cyclocross bikes are here to stay and Carver is excited to introduce a race level carbon tubular disc wheelset. The 24-hole wheels are available now for order on Bikeman.com at a price of $699.95. And check out the bike they are mounted on in the image below …. That will be a blog post for another day, keep checking back!
